Network Underlay, Overlay and Security Unified in a Managed Service

Hybrid networks are a reality: Despite McKinsey’s 2021 survey showing 64% of industrial companies using the cloud, 40% of applications remain on premises. Hence, traditional hub-spoke network architectures are becoming less effective, leading to issues like performance challenges and traffic bottlenecks, operational complexities, and security risks.

Even though company ambitions might be to go “cloud first” or “zero trust”, the most important first step is usually to transform the heart of an IT infrastructure – the network. Open Systems has supported companies for more than 20 years to optimize their network underlay, overlay and security by redesigning the architecture and management of their connectivity, SD-WAN and network security.

Open Systems Network Services provide comprehensive connectivity, SD-WAN, and basic network functionality including a security solution, delivered as a managed service. We leverage our own infrastructure and SASE products to craft our end-to-end network services for an outstanding customer experience – the Open Systems SASE Experience. Thanks to our Network Services, companies can transform their network to benefit from the cost-effectiveness of SD-WAN with the performance guarantees of MPLS and improve application performance. In addition, they can manage their network more efficiently thanks to centralized network and security controls as well as proactive operations, reliable 24×7 support, and individual technical consulting by a designated expert team.

Global Connectivity Services

With connectivity as the basis for every high-performance network, companies need a high-performance and reliable network underlay – even for remote or difficult locations like China, cloud or remote users and without the overhead of monitoring or having to manage a myriad of connectivity providers. Open Systems Global Connectivity Services provide true end-to-end SLAs: from site to PoP thanks to last-mile connectivity, and from PoP to PoP thanks to backbone connectivity. All delivered as a managed service, so companies can benefit from the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of internet connectivity without having to deal with its complexity.

Other Network Services

Since networks are more than just connectivity and SD-WAN, we offer the most prominent generic network services as part of our managed service: additional VPN connections as well as basic network and security functionality. Additional VPN links like secure connections to partners can be enabled with Partner Connect and Mobile Entry Point. This facilitates remote access of mobile users or third parties. We also support generic network functionalities such as DHCP or DNS zone forwarding. And additionally, basic network security with a Firewall to protect the network from external threats and segment it into different security zones internally.
